I purchased this as a 'project item' meaning to customize it for my own uses. It arrived exactly as described, and faster than I expected. It is a semi-coarse, self supporting filter media embedded with carbon. It cuts easily with boning shears to fit some obsolete or custom blower units. I use it as a secondary filter after a large particle filter and before a HEPA style filter for a continually dusty area. I feel it works well for my situation.
